Wayne Vander Westhuizen

Wayne was born in Springs, Transvaal, South Africa 18/01/1964. He was educated at Selcourt Primary School and Springs Boys High School. Wayne served 2 years for South African Defence Force before finding his passion for performing.

Wayne practised flying trapeze in Cape Town. He performed with his Mum (Raedawn Stevens); an accomplished flyer, before joining The Flying Germains in Rome 1984. Raedawn won Silver Clown Award in Monte Carlo with "The Flying Marilees".

Wayne first  appearance on the wheel of death at Blackpool Tower Circus in 1985. He had his own double wheel made in 1987 and his first contract was with Circus Krone for 2 years. Wayne wanted bigger and better so designed and had made the first Triple Wheel of Death. He joined the UK Outdoor Circuit in 1990 and the outdoor act has been going ever since.


Wayne has a beautiful daughter Raedawn, named after late mum. Wayne lives in Sunny South Africa and spends May - September in the UK on tour with the act
